Last month I stumbled across a website that interviews successful entrepreneur’s and it’s called Mixergy. I was watching a random video on Youtube where Andrew Warner and his site was introduced to me. If you don’t Andrew yet he’s an entrepreneur. He is the founder of Mixergy and many other start ups as well. He’s known for creating his own online venture in his 20’s and taking it to $30 million/year in sales mark.
Mixergy is a website that came out of his passion to help other entrepreneurs. He interviews people that have extensive experience in the online world which cover people such as the founders of Wordpress, Sitepoint and even Wikipedia. Mixergy allows users to watch videos or listen to them in an audio format. I personally like watching the videos to see what people look like and how they react to particular questions. It’s a great learning tool for anyone trying to create their own start up business.
It is amazing how much information is revealed by Andrew’s questions. He is a great host on the show and makes each interview exciting and fun. Be sure to send him questions you would like to see in his future interviews, he will actually add them in! I recommend his site for anyone that is interested in starting there own business. You can learn from the best entrepreneurs in the world for free on Mixergy.

As I stated in a previous post Toshiba NB205 I bought a new netbook computer. I noticed lately the processes of the CPU were very high. 10+ processes came from random Toshiba pre installed software.
I checked my list of applications and programs and found a full list of Toshiba programs. Most of them look pretty useless to me but I will be researching and finding which ones I can remove to make my computer run smoother. This seems like an increasing problem of all new computers in general. Let me know if you know what I should uninstall..

Up until now Google Chrome has been in the beta and developer testing stages. Today however Google announced the release of Chrome 3.0. They said it was now ready for stable use for the general public.
The last couple months have been great while using Chrome for most my internet surfing. It is noticeably a lot faster then it’s competitors such as IE and Firefox. I personally want to see more customization options. Plug-ins or add-ons simply make our lives easier. I still use Firefox for development purposes because Chrome lacks a few add-ons I use frequently such as PageRank, Alexa Rank, and Colorzilla.
Either way I am sure the development will eventually take off for Chrome as well like FF’s community did. I will waiting and ready for it when the time comes =).

I recently posted a small logo contest at one of my favorite forums and picked the winner. I usually do my own design work but I am stuck with a netbook at the moment and have no access to PhotoShop. I picked this new logo however, for the simple and clean look. Hopefully everyone else will enjoy it as well. If you want to contact the designer his username on DigitalPoint Forums is gipanuhotko. I greatly recommend him he was very easy going and professional!

To begin, I will keep this article short and simple. A very effective way to market yourself or website is to simply do what I’m doing right now “Write!”. Writing articles and submitting them to article directories is a fast way to get information out to the world. You can include your link at the bottom of an article which brings your website targeted traffic. This also helps you build a stronger page rank for your site.
Where do you start? It’s easier then you might think! All you need to do is find a topic for your article. Now if you need website traffic, there is a reason for it! This is where it gets exciting. For example let’s pretend you have a site related to “Dog Care”. Now what you want to do is write an article on “Dog Care”. This could be any topics from “How to properly wash a dog” to “tips on walking a dog”.
While writing your article you want to imagine yourself reading it. Would you want to read this article? An article could be compared with many things such as news, information, or even a school paper. Try to stay on topic but also make sure to keep the article exciting and interesting to keep the viewers entertained.
Last always be sure to include a vital point at the end of you article. This helps in bringing that particular viewer back to reading more of your articles. It’s that simple you can do it starting NOW!

I was minding my own business trying to find some coupons for Name.com. I am in need of about 5+ .com domain names. So I headed over to my old friend Google only to find it useless. I search “name.com coupons 2009 september” only to find a bunch of links for GoDaddy Coupons! Now maybe to the average Joe this is fine but to a passionate hater of Godaddy and their ridiculous interface it was completely not acceptable. However I believe this is the first time I was let down by the MIGHTY POWER OF GOOGLE. I took a screenshot of this terrible act =).

I have been using my new netbook for over a week now. I have nothing but good things to say about the Toshiba NB205 netbook. At first I wanted a full size notebook because I was worried I have trouble doing web development related work on a netbook. So far however, this netbook has held its own.
Basic Toshiba NB205 Stats:
Intel® Atom™ Processor N280
Genuine Windows® XP Home Edition (SP3)
1GB DDR2 533MHz memory (Upgraded mine to 2GB)
160GB HDD (5400rpm)
This netbook has held its own. It runs programs I use frequently such as Filezilla with no effort. I did tons of research before choosing this particular netbook. The price was $399.99 at my local Office Depot. However, if you look around and wait for special deals on sites such as Amazon you can get it cheaper.
The keyboard and track pad give a perfect feel and it is not uncomfortable one bit. The other netbook I was considering was the Samsung 120 however the mouse buttons on the track pad were terrible as far as the look and feel.
The only possible things that this netbook may lack is the web camera attached to the top. But for your average Skype conference calls I don’t think anyone will notice/care if its not a full multi pixel camera.
I am actually greatly considering not getting a desktop computer at all. This super light and small computer may be the only one I need! For the price it really is the best buy! Go to a local electronics store and check one out yourself.

After using Bing for the last 2 weeks, it has made me love Google even more! I may be a bit biased because of my simple taste in websites however there are a few points I would like to go over.
First off I am not a big fan of the Bing.com splash page. Now I didn’t actually try to change the backgrounds etc but I wasn’t too excited to try.
Next the thumbnails that show up in every search is quiet frankly a bit annoying. If I wanted to search for images I would use the image search feature. Instead they just include it as part of the normal text search.
I found that many of the search results lacked the results I needed. I couldn’t find the exact type of information that I was looking for in most my searches. But there may be a chance I am expecting too much from a new search engine. A search engine that hasn’t had a chance to truly crawl the web in a way Google has.
I am looking forward to seeing how well Bing will hold up against Google. As for me they will have to make some more improvements before I even consider using them again.

Have you ever walked the supermarket thinking “I could make that!”. That is exactly what happened to me when I moved into my new apartment. I thought it wasn’t hard to make a salad from scratch. While I was gathering the ingredients it definitely didn’t seem difficult at all. I got about 12 huge slices of chicken (don’t ask me why), a roll of cabbage, a fresh onion and some tomatoes.
When I got home I didn’t feel like starting my new adventure so I froze the chicken and put the rest in the fridge. When I woke up I sat there thinking for a second as to why in earth I stuck the chicken in the freezer. All 12 slices of the chicken were frozen together. I decided to throw the chicken on my hardwood floor. When I threw it however it seemed to do more damage to the floor then to the chicken. After a few minutes of throwing and playing with a large knife I managed to get 3 slices separated. I then put those separated slices into the microwave and set it for a minute.
DING DING DING…The chicken was finally thawed. The hard part is done right? Think again… I took out my non stick pan and poured some oil on it. I believe the temperature was too high because the oil started to boil in a crazy manner. I threw the chicken on top of the pan. Yet, my chicken was burning so I kept trying to flip the thick slices. During all of this, I noticed the chicken was failing to cook in the middle. So I took it off the pan and cut into smaller pieces and threw it back on. At the end of this entire mess, half my chicken was burnt and tasted like cardboard.
Next time I want a salad, I’ll just buy a pre-made package at the store. My four small (terrible) salads took a little under two hours to complete. Chopping the ingredients and cleaning my cutting board 6-7 times was a lot more time consuming then I expected.

I am still settling in at my new apartment. My new computer was not funtional when I got it today. I am writing this post from my new BlackBerry 8520. This phone is amazing for checking email and reading the news, but I am also able to write blog posts from it. The keyboard makes writing this post a lot easier then my previous Apple Iphone.
My phone cost me $129.99 at a locale store. The best part is I don’t need to buy a new mp3 player because this great device supports up to 16gb. The top part of the phone has buttons for pause, play, next track, etc. Overall this blackberry was a great buy!
